Gov. Almakura Tasks Civil Servants on Competence and Dedication to Duty as He Swears-in Two Permanent Secretaries and the Health Insurance Executive Secretary.

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has stated that competence remains a major criteria for any appointment or elevation in office.

The Governor disclosed this at the inauguration of two newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and the Executive Secretary of Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency at the Council Chambers of the Government House. Lafia .

He described the appointment of Allahnana John Attah and Hauwa Aliyu Ogah as Permanent Secretaries as well as Doctor Dogora Gomna as the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency as part of deliberate efforts of the administration towards ensuring quality service delivery.

According to the Governor the appointments were based on the capacity of each of the appointees to carry out given assignment thus urging them not to relent in handling the tasks before them , he called on the civil servants in the state to redouble their commitment to duty.

Gov. Almakura also explained that he newly established Health Insurance Agency is setup in regard of his administrations commitment toward ensuring the wellbeing of the people, he noted that the appointment of Dr. Dogara Gomna to be at the helm of affairs is towards manning the agency with experienced hands that could reap from their experience.

Governor Almakura used the forum to disclose that the state government was working on plans to enhance the capacity of administrative officers in the state, so as to meet contemporary challenges. The Governor stated that administrative officers be employed by the government would be trained at the staff college of Nigeria (ASC$ON) so as to meet global best practices.
