NASARAWA STATE HAS LOST A COLOSSUS: Gov. Almakura Condoles Nasarawa over the Passing of Emir of Nasarawa HRH Hassan Ahmed II.

His Excellency Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura and the entire people of Nasarawa State have lost a man of honour, a colossus in administration and an a royal father of the highest esteem.

We announce with submission to the will of the Almighty, the passing of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Nasarawa Alhaji Hassan Ahmed II, the 11th Emir of Nasarawa and longest serving Director General of the Industrial Training Fund ITF.

At this fragile period of our nation's quest for democratic stability and national cohesion, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura is pained by the sudden loss of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Hassan Ahmed II.

Indeed Nigeria has lost a pearl and to the people of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura calls for piety, patience and greater love and understanding of each other. For indeed, the death of the Emir of Nasarawa holds for us no greater lesson than that of unity and acceptance of each other.

HRH Hassan Ahmed II mni was the longest serving Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), he was the Chairman Nasarawa Civil Service Commission , Secretary / Director of Administration , National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru, he was Permanent Secretary and Commissioner for Internal Affairs , Information and Establishment in Plateau State.

He was awarded Member of the Federal Republic (MFR), Fellow Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM) and Fellow Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FFPN) among others.

He assended to the throne as the Emir of Nasarawa on the 22nd May , 2004 . He passed away at the age of 79 after a protracted illness leaving behind two wives and 13 children.
