Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa state has expressed his commitment to fighting insecurity and foster unity and peaceful coexistence in the society.
He stated this while responding to journalists shortly after concluding the inspection of some project sites in Lafia and Doma Local Governments on Thursday.
The Governor stated that promoting the provision of employment for the teeming youth in the state will reduce the rate of crime because youth are the cadre of people engaged to perpetrate criminal activities in the society.
Engineer Abdullahi Sule maintained that promoting agricultural activities through roads construction will also stem the level of insecurity just as he stressed his resolve to engage traditional rulers all with the aim of curtailing security challenges among the people.
The number one citizen of Nasarawa State applauded the work done at the Bukan Sidi bypass road as he enjoined the contractor to maintain the quality of work.
While at the skill acquisition centre along Jo's road, the Governor commended his predecessor for the initiative but was quick to add that alot of work need to be done especially on the training workshops in order to meet with global standards.
Nasarawa Urban Development Board (NUDB) and the contractor handling the Andoma Palace road construction were given a pat on the back by the Governor for a job well done, pledging to beautify the Doma roundabout as well as completing the road construction to the market in Doma.
Speaking at the Technology Incubation Centre, Engineer Abdullahi Sule said even though twenty-five cubicles have been built, there is still alot of work to be done because there are lots of entrepreneurs that will train the youth in the state.
"That is why we decided to go round and ensure that all these projects that have been built and some of them we are still building, we will ensure that they are actually going to satisfy the need for which they have been built and just as I have said when I was being sworn-in, every project that was started by the state government we will complete them.
