NASARAWA STATE RECEIVES REPORT FROM NASARAWA STATE COMMITTEE ON SOLID MINERALS DEVELOPMENT.


His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has tasked Solid Mineral Development Company to ensure that all revenues due to Nasarawa State are properly documented so as to ensure that the 13% due to the state is gotten by the state.

Governor Almakura gave the directives as the received the Committee Report from the Chairman Solid Mineral Committee Alh. Isa Ahmed Bukar at the Nasarawa State Government House.

The Governor also invited all investors in the solid mineral sector to come to Nasarawa State to practice their trade as the government would provide good incentives such as tax breaks and easy acquisition of land to enable them make the most of the work efficiently.

Gov. Almakura has called on citizens of the state to take advantage of the policy trust of the administration as the government was ready to support all that were willing to work in the sector to ensure the vast minerals of the state were , mined , developed properly documented.

Lastly, Gov. Almakura assured the committee that the State Government would implement all the recommendations put forward by the committee to the letter, thanking them for their service to the state.

Speaking earlier, the Solid Mineral Committee Chairman, Alh. Isa Ahmed Bukar made it known that there was no LGA that didnít have more than one mineral and as the state had 35 different minerals available in abundance with over 100 verities, but disclosed that the state lost valuable revenue due to the documenting of minerals mined from the state at other locations.

He called on the state government to keep up the commitment and political will to ensure the success in the area of Solid Minerals, tasking the administration not to be distracted, calling for more investment in the sector.
