Nasarawa State citizens urged to take ownership of their environment 5th June, 2020.
[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”9″ display=”basic_thumbnail” thumbnail_crop=”0″]As Nasarawa State join the rest of the world to mark this year’s World Environment Day, The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Hon Musa Ibrahim Abubakar called on Nasarawa State citizens and Nigerians to take ownership of their environment and actively engage in the protection of the earth.
The well to do Commissioner who led the world Environment Day celebration in Nasarawa State avowed that the State citizens should rise and become agents of transformation by planting of trees and promotion of environmental conservation for sustainable development.
While Appreciating the Uncommon Administrator Governor Abdullahi Sule for making sure Nasarawa State is not left behind in this historic day themed, “Time For Nature” the honourable Commissioner admonished citizens against illegal Dumping Of Refuse in the state.
Meanwhile, world Environmental Day is the largest global celebration for pragmatic environmental action, where nations are brought together to commit to their responsibilities towards Mother Earth.
World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5, every year. It is the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment.
