Nasarawa safe, free from militias - SSG

The Nasarawa state government has applauded the prompt efforts of the Police and other security agencies in stabilizing the tension that arose as a result of the herdsmen and farmers crisis in Benue state.

The Secretary to the government of Nasarawa state, Barr Mohammed Abdullahi (Magajin Garin Uke) made this known while briefing newsmen in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

Barr Mohammed Abdullahi reiterated that Gov Umaru Tanko Almakura has accepted the apology from his Benue state counterpart, Gov Samuel Ortom over allegations of militia camping in Nasarawa state.

This, the SSG said was to stabilize the North Central which is the bridge between the North and Southern Nigeria.

The SSG maintained that the state government has put all necessary arrangements in place for all the Internally Displaced Persons ranging from shelter, food, security and other basic needs at the bordering communities.

He added that all possible approaches will be sustained to ensure that all ethnic groups in the state live peacefully with one another
