New CAN Exco Visit Gov. Almakura

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has emphasized the need for the Clergy to help towards educating and informing the public on the current economic realities going on.

The Governor who received the new Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Executives who were at the Government House Lafia on courtesy call explained that it was only through such forums that the people would get to understand governmentís position on things and issues.

Congratulating the new CAN officials, Gov. Almakura sued for enhanced collaboration so as to take the state to greater heights, assuring them that his doors will always be open for their wise counsel. Affirming his administrationís commitment to the promotion of religious harmony, Gov. Umaru Tanko Almakura informed them of his plan to reactivate the interreligious committee in the state.

Lastly, he lauded the religious institutions for supporting governmentís quest to enhance the socio-economic base of the state.

Earlier the new Nasarawa State CAN Chairman, Bishop Joseph George Masin assured the governor of their readiness to partner with him, and with his laudable strides. He commended him for delivering the dividend of democracy to the people of the state.

They assured him of their support and prayers for the Governors success, the CAN Leadership also commended him on his efforts towards entrenching peace and unity among the people of the state.
