His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura Signs 2015 Appropriation Bill

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has called on the people of Nasarawa State to give the same kind of cooperation they gave to in proper implementation of the 2014 budget. Stating that due to their patience and cooperation the 2014 budget was successfully implemented.

Gov. Almakura made this known as he signed into law the N108bn 2015 Appropriation Bill (2015 Budget) as approved by the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, at the Government House, Lafia, in the presence of the Executive Council , Clerk of the House of Assembly and some Members of the House of Assembly.

He said the 2015 budget was well drafted in line with the new style which would provide for all items without lumping unallocated funds together. He used the occasion to state that Nasarawa State was now debt free, having paid the forty Billion Naira debt it met on ground in 2011, and had fully paid the ten billion Naira collected a year and a half ago, which was used to construct markets , hospitals and hostels.

He assured the people that in the next term education and health would be areas he would focus on, as well as ensure the people continue to get the dividends of democracy.

More so, the Governor called on all other parties to forget their differences and come together to join forces with him towards building the Nasarawa state of our dream. He specifically mentioned that, no matter the difference in their political loyalty, it does not change the Nasarawa in us. He said election was over and now it is time to build the state honestly and sincerely.
