Nasarawa State Government has indicated its readiness to partner with National Youth Service Corps to promote socio-economic development at the grassroots.
The State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule disclosed this when he led a delegation of political and traditional leaders from the State on a courtesy visit to the National Directorate Headquarters of NYSC in Maitama, Abuja.
He expressed his administration's readiness to support NYSC in all areas that require intervention, so that both parties can enjoy mutual benefits from the synergy.
While requesting for the deployment of more Corps Members to the State, Governor Sule promised that the government will continue to give priority to the security and welfare of Corps Members.
Speaking further, he congratulated Brigadier General Ibrahim on his recent appointment as the 18th Director-General of NYSC, and also commended his style of leadership which he said has made Nasarawa State proud.
Responding, NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Ibrahim thanked the Governor of his home state for the visit, and pledged to maintain his posture of leaving good legacies behind, a trend that has characterized his stewardship wherever he has served over the years.
The NYSC boss appealed to the Governor to provide a befitting camping environment for Corps Members by renovating the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi.
He also requested the State Government to donate a piece of land on which a Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Centre would be erected for the North-Central Geo-Political Zone.
