GOVERNOR ABDULLAHI A. SULE WILL UNVEIL A PEACE PLAN THAT GUARANTEES EQUITY, BALANCE AND SECURITY IN NASARAWA STATE:
The manifesto of Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule even before he became governor was modelled on PEACE-BUILDING AS THE CORNERSTONE FOR SECURITY and in attempting to achieve his lofty vision of industrialization for Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule stated during an interview with NASARAWA EYE on 30th November, 2018 that:Â NASARAWA STATE NEEDS PEACE FIRST AND AB OVE ALL THINGS, BECAUSE WE MUST LIVE IN PEACE IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE INDUSTRIALIZATION WE ARE LOOKING FOR!
In the same interview with NASARAWA EYE, His Excellency Abdullahi A. Sule revealed in his own words that: “ HOPE AND PRAY THAT BY THE TIME I FINISH MY TERM AS GOVERNOR, I WOULD BE REMEMBERED FOR THE SECURITY I BROUGHT TO NASARAWA STATE; WHERE OUR PEOPLE CAN CONTINUE TO LIVE TOGETHER IN PEACE WITH ONE ANOTHER, UNITED IN DESTINY AND WITHOUT RECOURSE TO ANY RELIGIOUS OR ETHNIC PROBLEMS!
It is because of this singular and unwavering commitment to PEACE-BUILDING that when Governor Abdullahi A. Sule was invited last month to speak on the theme: RENEWED EFFORTS TO CURB INSURGENCY AND INSECURITY IN NIGERIA at THE 1ST COLLOQUIUM organized by SULTAN MACCIDO INSTITUTE FOR PEACE, LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT STUDIES in the University of Abuja; he used the event to declare that he will soon launch the most comprehensive and pragmatic program of peace-building ever initiated by any state government in Nigeria!
It was this comprehensive PEACE PLAN of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule that the DG: Strategic Communica tion & Press Affairs (Yakubu Lamai) went to discuss with the Vice Chancellor, Nasarawa State University in Keffi on Friday 12th July 2019.
The VC, Professor Suleiman Mohammed commended the Governors Peace Plan for its religious and ethnic balance and for involving every strata of society from the young to the old; and assured of the Universitys 100% support and participation to implement the Peace Plan.
In the same vein, the Vice Chancellor enlisted the DG to intimate the Governor that university management was fighting to entrench ethical conduct so as to curb sexual harassment, drug addiction, cultism and students marking students; while building a university where merit is upheld in terms of teaching, research and social innovation.
To achieve this, the VC presented the UNIVERSITY WORK-PLAN 2019- 2024Â whi ch is anchored on nurturing Nasarawa State University into a 21st century and world Class University, for onward transmission to the Governor.
