The attention of His Excellency, Hon. Silas Ali Agara, Nasarawa state Deputy Governor has been drawn to a report by one Godspower Ede, a staff of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service attached to the office of His Excellency alleging on social media on Sunday that a new Emir of Lafia has been selected despite the fact that the late Emir, His Royal Highness, Dr Isa Mustapha-Agwai died on Friday and the people of the state and the country at large are still mourning.
For clarity purposes, we wish to state clearly that Godspower Ede is not a media aide to his Excellency but a journalist attached to cover the activities of his Excellency and got no authorization whatsoever from his Excellency or aides to His Excellency to make such comment.
His Excellency wishes to distract himself from the post of the journalist and urge the general public to see it as a personal opinion of the journalist.
His Excellency, Silas Agara is a true Democrat and a staunch advocate of due process who has made it clear that the selection of a new emir and the transmission to the public will be carried out by those statutorily mandated to do so.
