Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has said that the judgment of the Supreme Court is a reaffirmation of his victory at the 2015 Governorship elections, just as his supporters took to the streets across the state in jubilation.
The Supreme Court dismissed the case filed by the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate, Mr. Labaran Maku, challenging the election of the governor during the 2015 election.
Al-makura who spoke with journalists shortly after the pronouncement by the apex court , said with the judgment the people of the state and country at large now know APGA is alien to the people of the state as it never existed from the onset, stating that the APGA did not have any councilor, State Assembly or National Assembly seat.
He explained that the political atmosphere in the state is not and would never be conducive for APGA which only existed in the mouth of Labaran Maku , not to mention winning the seat of the governor.
While thanking the people of Nasarawa State for remaining calm, committed and faithful in spite of all the provocation and lies as they followed the judicial process to the end, Al-Makura extended a hand of friendship to all those who contested against him and had patriotic zeal to contribute to the state, calling on them to come and join hands and make the state great.
