Nasarawa State is to key into the Treasury Single Account which has been put into use by the Federal Government, due to the fall in revenue and the need to block all leakages from government and government Agencies.
The Hon. Commissioner of Finance Dr. Dominic Bako made this known following a closed door meeting with His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura, Management and Heads of the State owned Tertiary Institutions where he briefed the members press on the new policy that would be put into use in the State.
Dr. Bako explained that the Tertiary Institutions were met due to the peculiarity of their needs and the demands that come from running such organizations and to inform them of the need to avail the government of their accounts.
He made it known that about N2.6 trillion was realized from such accounts at the Federal Government , and Nasarawa State being followers and advocates of the change brought by President Muhammadu Buhari have seen it necessary to join suit and its own TSA policy with would hopefully yield the same results by checking excesses in government.
