His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has expressed the readiness of the Nasarawa State Government to partner with the Turlip International College in improving the quality of education in Nasarawa state.
Governor Almakura made this known during a Sallah Visit by the some members of the the Turkish Community in Nigeria led by the Deputy Managing Director First Surat Limited Feyzullah Bilgin at the Government House Lafia.
Gov. Almakura expressed delight at the visit and opportunity to discuss with the Turkish Community, where he assured them of maximum support towards them coming to invest in the Nasarawa State in the areas of education and healthcare.
The Governor commended the Turkish nationals for their uplifting of the educational standard by schools that provide both high quality education as well as moral education, calling on them to consider bringing such to Nasarawa State.
Speaking Earlier the leader of the Turkish delegation Feyzullah Bilgin said the visit was to collaborate with the State Government towards providing qualitative education to the people of the state.
He explained that they had founded Nigerian Turkish International Colleges (NTIC) and the Nile University which had achieved global standing as schools of quality education, which had gotten educational awards within and outside the Nigeria.
Mr. Bilgin described education as a medicine to ignorance, militancy and radicalism stressed the need for government at all levels to take proactive measures to address the menace.
He made it known that they had been into education in Nigeria for 20 years now and attributed poor performance of students in Nigerian to poverty among other factors which reduce the student and teachers potentials to excel.
He appealed to the State Government to give them the necessary support towards improving the teaching and learning in Nasarawa State.
