His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has expressed the commitment of the Nasarawa State Government towards bringing to book the attackers of the Chinese Miners that led to the death of a Chinese Miner and 3 Nigerians including a police escort.
Governor Almakura made the call as he visited the foreign nationals at Alongani village in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, in company of the State Commissioner of Police , Director DSS, SSG and other Government Officials who were with him to sympathies with them and reassure them of the Government’s resolve to work in collaboration with other security agencies as well as the vigilantes to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
The Governor who met with some survivors of the attack assured them that the state Government would ensure that the attackers do not go free stating that the State Security Council would meet and take decisions that would provide more safety for investors in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Miners the Chinese Consul Mr. Joseph Yuo thanked the Governor and his entourage for their concern and attention to the issue, and reassuring them the confidence they see in the state and its attention towards investors.
Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police Abubakar Sadiq-Bello called on the
people of the state to encourage foreigners willing to do business in the
state rather than attacking them.
He reiterated the commitment of the police to safeguard the lives and property of all residents and assured that the command would not relent in its effort to rid the state of crime and criminality.
