Governor Almakura Commissions Wamba Water Project

His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has restated his administrationís commitment towards ensuring bettering the lives of communities through the provision of needed infrastructure and utilities

Governor Almakura disclosed this during the commissioning of the modular Solar Powered Water Scheme in as Wamba Local Government Area as part of efforts to provide potable water in rural communities

He described the water works is an initiative to meet the water needs of the people of Wamba and environs capable of producing over 100,0000 gallons of water daily., stating that the project was connected with his administration's priority on ensuring the water problems being. faced by the people of rural areas was tackled.

He described the initiative as a move from the conventional water schemes that use electricity power supply with attendant setbacks occasioned by power outage and bad maintenance culture ,by constructing a water project that is solely powered by solar energy .

He lauded the efforts of the State Water Board and other stakeholders for seeing to the realization of the project, just as he noted government's commitment to ensure the water is properly reticulated as well to ensure that villages that would not have access to such water would be provided , noting that the major township would be given priority first ,but assuring all nearby community of water supply even if it means sinking public boreholes.

He appreciated the support Wamba had been giving the administration since the early days of the CPC , which had prompted the administration to carry out some projects such as the water works which would provide the residents with water .

Lastly , Governor Almakura assured the residents of the completion of the major road tagged Ahmadu Bello way in Wamba LGA.

Speaking at the event , the General Manager, Nasarawa State Water Board, Umar Abdullahi Agbo said the Governor has achieved a mile stone with establishment of the water scheme, which would provide relief to Wamba residents and communities around.

Chairman, Brosino Nigeria limited, Engineer Lu said the project which was completed within nine months was carried out with consideration to world class engineering practices, noting that it was designed to meet the basic water needs of the people. He noted the easy operation , stable performance and economical savings as the strong point of the project .

The project is capable of providing 118,000 gallons from 15 boreholes powered by over 200 solar panels , with 8.7 reticulation networks to provide water supply..
