EASTER: GOVERNOR ABDULLAHI A. SULE FELICITATES WITH CHRISTIANS, CALLS FOR LOVE AND PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi A. Sule rejoices with our Christian brothers and sisters in Nasarawa State and the country at large on the occasion of the 2021 Easter festivities.

Governor Sule expressed appreciation to God for the gift of life and the opportunity of another celebration as well as for the relative peace in the state.

He said “the period of Easter is one for deeper reflection and a time for all to rededicate to the service of God and love to humanity.”

He further urges all “Christians in the state not to loose sight of the reason for the celebration, and to strive to emulate the virtues of Christ.”

Engr. Sule calls for peaceful coexistence between Christians and people of other faiths, insisting “it is the fundamental ingredient for our collective growth and development as a state and a nation.”

The Governor also urges adherence to the Covid 19 advisory as a safe guard against the Corona virus while reiterating his government’s resolve to deploy every resource necessary to the security of lives and property.

Governor Abdullahi Sule wishes all the good people of Nasarawa state a peaceful and rewarding Easter celebration.

Engineer Sule urges Nigerians to take security as collective responsibility.

This is just as the governor noted that with Nasarawa State selected to be the pilot state for the National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP), the prolonged conflicts between farmers and herdsmen, will soon be resolved.

Earlier, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Senator (Dr.) George Akume, in a keynote address, said the Federal Government, has adopted a paradigm shift in its approach to national security.

According to the minister, the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari, places emphasis on the people and not the state, aimed at enhancing the social wellbeing of the citizens.

“Community safety and human security links to the human development approach, which is about expanding the richness of human life, rather than simply the richness of the economy,” Senator Akume said.

To this end, the minister said the implementation committee on community safety and human security programme, is prepared to work with relevant security institutions, stakeholders and in-state actors, in expanding the narrative and intelligence for community safety.
