DIRECTOR GENERAL BUREAU FOR ICT CHANGING THE NARRATIVES

The Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi (Barayan Daddare), The Director General Bureau For Information and Communication Technology (BICT) Shehu Ibrahim , The Senior Special Assistant on Information and Communication Technology Haruna Sani Sani , alongside Members and Directors of SUBEB with management of BICT at the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board office after a presentation by BICT.

The presentation was on the steps towards digitalization of activities of the Board , the upgrading of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in primary school to use ICT to support, enhance, and optimize the delivery of information.

The Director General stated that their mission there was to enable SUBEB to use ICT in education to help the students to compete in the global economy through enhancing learning experiences and providing new sets of skills, as well as minimizing costs and saving time associated with information delivery and automating regular day-to-day tasks.

The DG commended SUBEB for their proactive use of ICT so far, stating that the Board’s usage of ICT in its operations was very encouraging and only needed to work on few areas, with the world moving rapidly into digital media and information, the role of ICT in education is becoming more important and this importance will continue to grow and develop in the 21st century.

He restated Bureau’s commitment towards enabling ICT in education and making use of technology in education to create an easy-to-manage learning environment where the delivery of information would be much smoother and learning easier

Further stating that computer technologies and other aspects of digital culture have changed the way people live, work, play, and learn, impacting the construction and distribution of knowledge and power around the world.
